2. What we process and why
Visiting the website
When you visit the site, our hosting provider’s servers automatically record technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request (server logs). This is necessary to deliver the website securely and to prevent abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Logs are kept only for a short period by the hosting provider and are not used to identify you.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address, the time of your consent and the page you subscribed from. We use it only to send you our newsletter. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can unsubscribe and withdraw consent at any time via the link in every email or by contacting us; we then delete your address. If we start using an email service provider to send the newsletter, we will name it here.

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We delete correspondence when it is no longer needed.
Affiliate links
When you click an affiliate link (for example valueseekers.net/go/…), we only count the number of clicks on that link — we do not store who clicked. You are then sent to the retailer’s website, where the retailer (for example Amazon) may set cookies to attribute a purchase to us.
